I started a Kenai project called Frisco, making it possible to use inline-scripts (at the moment mvel and groovy and to some part javascript) to handle jsf-events.
The idea is based on JSFTemplatings eventhandling features based on extended EL and and Handler-Objects.
I will soon put some proof of concept code into the code repository on http://kenai.com/projects/frisco
But to give you some idea of what it will look like (this is an already working example) see the template-code...
